Hello, my name is Katie French, and I am the owner of Katie's Klothesline. We have been offering the option of seasonal consignment to the Coastal Bend area since 2007. We started out small with only 2500 items in our first sale. Event after event we have grown. Our most recent event in the Fall of 2010 we had over 13,000 high-quality items.

I am wife to my high school sweetheart, Chris, and a stay-at-home mom of 3 handsome boys. Staying at home as a mother is important to us as our 2 oldest boys are affected by autism. I needed to be able to provide the support that my boys required, but I still wanted to help out financially. Operating Katie's Klothesline gives us both opportunities. Since the sale is only twice yearly, I only work outside the home twice a year for abbreviated periods of time. I have a great support system of family and friends that help by volunteering to work the sale and keeping things running as smooth as possible during 'sale time'.

My husband and I graduated high school from Gregory-Portland a 'few' years back, and were married in 1995 after he graduated college from Texas A&M. When we started our family we were clueless as to what it took, monetarily, to raise kids. We quickly learned that it's not all roses. Kids not only need love and kisses.... they need food, clothes, toys, a bed to sleep in, books to look at, games to play and then they have to go to the doctor. Whew! You want to save in any aspect you can so that you can have some money left over. As I looked around to see how I could help out, we finally decided on making an investment in a little consignment business. Hence, Katie's Klothesline was born.

A consignment event is not MY idea by any means. This concept is available in most areas of the country. It just wasn't available where I was.....the way I wanted to do it. You can look it up on the internet and find different ideas at different events. I chose ideas that I thought would benefit this area, concepts that I could follow through with and went with it. I hope that you will try us out, and more importantly, be happy that you did. We strive to have happy consignors. Happy consignors are returning consignors. Returning consignors tell their friends, which is the best form of advertising!
